Dear Earthlings,

Our maid is now serving her second month (entering month three) with us. So far I try to be reasonable and calm each time she request for something. Afterall, you cannot a perfect maid isn't it? Workwise, she is obedient and fast learner.

She follows my instructions and that includes how I want my clothes to be ironed (sides have to be visible and in line), shoes have to be polished everyday and the list goes on.

I guess, it justify why most people say, Philippine has the best maid among other countries though a bit expensive. Not to be judgemental or anything, but our last experience with Indonesian and Cambodian maids were not in our favour.

Kids are okay with her, though we still send the Youngsters to school full day.

So I guess, I have nothing to complaint about?
Syukur alhamdulillah. Semoga berpanjangan.

Dear Earthlings,

I realised that I have been slacking in updating this blog. Been busy lately as the BlueCompany has recently moved to a new building. Though it is just a kilometre away from the previous office, only God knows how miserable my life is. The reasons are solely because of traffic and parking.

Last time, I could easily reach home within 15 minutes via DUKE from Jalan Pahang. Now, it takes more than half an hour, sometimes an hour plus! *cry blood*

It took us almost a week to pack approximately 160 boxes from the department. And now, the unpacking is a work in progress. lol.
Still adjusting here and there with the traffic, punctuality and all which I hope I can get over with it soon enough.

Anyways,
We are going off again this coming weekend and I have yet to blog about our (not really) recent trips - Singapore, Langkawi and Legoland. Boo hoo! Will try to blog and give out tips later.

On the other note, this week is my second gym week with GadgetGeek. Our routine is one hour per session, three times a week. He had to bring me along because he has been constantly nagging about our health nowadays. Yes, I had to give in. Bluuergghh.

Meet my new bestfriend

The reason why I don't mind going to the gym because it has a private room for ladies only. So I had the room all to myself. Hehe..

Normally after work out session, we will have our dinner date at the nearby cafe. Usually he will have salad (only)? and this is my default order.

He asked me what is my target for my work out.
Told him, I want like this.

All I need is three months.
Tinggi sunggoh cita-citaku. Bedal nasi berpinggan pinggan hari-hari.

Dear Earthlings,

I think, we've been to many stage shows lately.

1) Comedy Court - Rally On.

Well, the idea of watching this show was by GadgetGeek.
Truthfully, I tak layan sangat stand up comedian ni except for Russell Peters. hehe.. agak poyo di situ.

Anyways, you can just throw any comedian on stage and GadgetGeek will laugh his heart out. For real ok. Sangat tak paham.
Like previously, we went to a wedding and they invited a stand up comedian for the show.. all I can hear was GadgetGeek's laughs, though I think it was not thaaat funny.

Not to disrespect, but I slept on the final 15 minutes. Too tired I guess!
Sorry hunn!

2) Little BIG Club - Live in Concert

A day before the show, I remember GadgetGeek asked me about this. I thought it was just another soalan mengisi masa lapang by which I answered, 'ok'.
(I think, I was sleeping that time. Aahhh.. clever, asked me when I was in LalaLand. Haiyaaa)

Received a confirmation email and couldn't recall what it is all about. I thought it just gonna to be another show.. until I googled and found out that it is
for kids. Sigh.

A bit disappointment because they charge one ticket per kid, regardless the age. In normal circumstances, kids under 3 should be free isn't it? So we purchased 2 adults and 2 kids which cost us a bomb. Told GadgetGeek, with this amount we spent, might as well we go for JLo Concert. Boleh dapat best seat lagi. Hurmph.

Anyhow, on that Saturday -
a) went to Jamal Raess' akikah in Wangsa Maju

Jamal Raess Ross-Iddin

b) headed to KLCC for the concert.

Post #0238 - Deliciously Wicked Bedtime Stories

Dear Earthlings,

To those who has been following my previous entry on my niece, I am proud to announce that she has finally graduated from the Actors Studio Academy. So last Saturday was more like a family outing for us. Went to KL Performing Arts Centre for Deliciously Wicked Bedtime Stories as my niece was part of the graduation performance.  Have to show some support, you know!

The one-hour Graduation Performance was open for public (2 days show) and was divided into few scenes (approx 5-10 minutes) from different age of group and with variety of bedtime stories such as the mermaid, sleeping beauty and more.

My niece was in the final group, Snow White I think? Because she was acting as a mirror. lol.

And the show ended with Oppa Gangnam!

Delicious Jln Tun Razak for graduation treat

Dear Earthlings,

After the slow talk incident, today we have decided to retain the maid and proceed with the permit.
The reason?
We noticed that she is slow at doing her work, doesn't know how to cook nor take care small children.
However, she is willing to learn and obedient.

So far I'm satisfied with her folding and ironing. All t-shirts and pants are folded nicely and no more 2-3 side lines in ironing. Plus, all have been arranged color coded, just like what I taught her.

Because of this point we think that we should give her a chance. Afterall, we cannot expect that we could have a perfect maid isn't it?

GadgetGeek said those points I should be less worry about. Both Youngsters are full day at school, and the cooking shall be done by me. What's important, the house is clean and be taken care off.
Hmm..

Dear Earthlings,

Yes, I was so pissed off with bibik yesterday. When I reached home, I was so freaking surprised that she has yet to settle the laundry. Ie : No folding was done. d'uhh. Asked her what she did the whole day, she said -

1) laundry (wash & dry)
<where all can be done with a single button! btw, we are using washer and dryer>

2) wiping & sorting the Youngsters toys
<she started to sort around 7am which I believe by 8am she should be done already. Afterall there are just two small boxes. She did not even arrange the books on the shelf>

3) ironing
< I checked the closet and found out that she only ironed one shirt. I believe she just started ironing?>

So agak-agak, mengamuk tak Madame bila balik rumah tengok kerja tak settle lagi??
From 7 am until 6.30pm, that's all you do?? in 12 hours? in 800 sq ft house?

Cut the story short, GadgetGeek had 'that talk' to the maid.
No voice was raised, only firm.
Seriously, I never seen him in that position before.
Madame pon takot ok!

Post #0233 - Yes or No?

Dear Earthlings,

Today marked the sixth day the maid is with us. (We call her 'bibik')
As I told you before, we had a Cambodian maid in 2010 for less than ten days. An Indonesian maid for a month in 2011, and now from Phillipines.

Yes, many people make fun of us - having maids from different countries. Even the new maid told me, "waahh.. madam.. you have maid all around the world".
Pfft.

We have 7 days trial period and tomorrow is the day where we need to decide.
So far, I'm so-so.

If want to compare work wise, my last Indonesian maid (43 years old) is more hands-on, detailed with cleaning, good with kids but everyday asking me to send her to her mom's place (her mother is also a maid in Sunway). Not sure her intention was to work or to visit her mom.

The Cambodian maid (19 years old) is out of the picture. She sleeps a lot, picky eater, late riser, always argue with us. In short,  everything was dissappointing.

Our current maid (31 years old), she's ok, but slow in getting her job done. For instance, she took almost 3 hours to iron 8 pieces of garment. Not good with kids, but getting there slowly. Lucky that we still sending the Youngsters to school todate.

The good news about this maid is, she's not home sick, unlike the previous maids.. which I find it a relief. No-more-drama-please.

Btw, I just got to know that my dad knows basic tagalog. He even sang! (showing off his skills to the maid) which I don't know why he did that. My mom just laughed at him.
*macam-macam*

Anyways, we left the maid at my mom's place for 2 days because we had to go to Langkawi which we already planned prior her arrival. According to my mom, the maid is easy to teach, not picky and obedient. Me, on the other hand raised my concerns etc. Again, my mom reminded me 'you cannot find a perfect maid'.

I think the reason why my family can click with bibik is because she eats budu sauce when my mom served on the table. lol!
Alaa.. my mom ni.. sapa-sapa yang suka makan budu, semua dia ok. bias! lol.

Whatever it is, I'm still contemplating though.

Dear Earthlings,

N.O.T. C.O.M.F.O.R.T.A.B.L.E.
That's what I feel right now.

GadgetGeek rang up an agent this morning, and apparently they have a maid on waiting list. Sigh.
So we are picking up the maid tomorrow afternoon.

The last (a month) maid was in January this year. After ten months I'm enjoying every little inch on not having maid, now.. the headache is coming. again.
So stressful.

Post #0231 - Tooth and teeth

Dear Earthlings,

We took both youngsters (age 4 and 2) for scalling a couple of weeks ago. Thought they have gone screaming, but actually none cried, which a relief for GadgetGeek because I was at the office at that particular day.

In case you don't know.
This is scalling - to remove plaque.

Since Youngster #2 is still young to brush his teeth correctly, the dentist advised us to get a battery operated toothbrush so it helps the kid to brush in circular motion.

Bought these for RM20+- each in Tesco.
So far they lovin' it!

Post #0226 - Maroon 5 “Overexposed Tour 2012” Live in Malaysia

Dear Earthlings,

YES!!
We made it to the Concert!

The disputed tickets
Arrived quarter to nine
Arrival of CAB
opening act by CAB
Siti Nurhaliza, DK and Jimmy Choo (not in the picture)
Arrival of Maroon 5 @ 10pm
Show time! Maroon 5 *Screamm!!* First song - Payphone

Few lesson learned.

1) Park your car outside the venue (unless you have a driver who can pick you up)
We didn't bother to park at the VIP parking as we parked our ride opposite the Stadium - near the row of shophouses, so we can escape the traffic madness. Reached home in Damansara within 20 minutes drive.

2) ALWAYS! ALWAYS! ALWAYS MAKE SURE that your camera battery is FULLY CHARGED!
We brought extra battery and only realised during the opening act that the spare battery was totally flat and the one in the camera had another 40% life.
Argghhh!!!

3) Shall buy better lens BEFORE the date of the concert.

4) Maroon 5 is totally awesome! (cry!!)
They were like, jumped out of the car.. straight to the stage and did their thang! Non-stop impressive show!
Now I feel like a groupie.
